About the Role

As a Video Editor you’ll be the lead editor turning expert tax insights into engaging, high-impact video content that performs across YouTube, Spotify/Apple Podcasts, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

This role is equal parts technical execution, creative storytelling, and social strategy. You’ll own editing from raw footage to final delivery—and play a vital role in helping us scale our reach while keeping the content punchy, polished, and on-brand.

What You'll Do

  • Edit 2–3 long-form YouTube videos weekly (talking-head, direct-to-camera)

  • Produce clean, well-paced podcast edits (audio + video) for weekly episodes

  • Cut scroll-stopping short-form clips for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

  • Add on-brand graphics, captions, b-roll, zooms, and visual interruptions

  • Collaborate with our strategist on content packaging (hooks, titles, thumbnails)

  • Organize and manage shared assets, project files, and version tracking

  • Analyze performance (retention, click-through, listen-through) and iterate

  • Spot weak moments in footage and reframe with creative editing

  • Maintain consistency across platforms while tailoring to each algorithm

  • Bring creative ideas to the table—help us test and evolve our style

You'll Be Measured By

  • YouTube: Strong average view duration + increasing retention

  • Podcast: Clean, listenable episodes with strong completion rates

  • Shorts: Scroll-stopping clips that drive saves, shares, and views

  • Timely delivery with minimal revision cycles

  • Smart collaboration with strategist + brand lead

  • Ability to adapt our expert content to platform trends without compromising integrity

Requirements

  • 3+ years of editing experience across YouTube, podcasts, and short-form

  • Strong Adobe Premiere skills (After Effects, Audition, or Descript is a plus)

  • Solid understanding of storytelling, pacing, and platform-native content

  • Proven experience editing for social media growth—not just cutting clips

  • Familiarity with YouTube Studio, podcast analytics, and short-form trends

  • Portfolio that includes long-form + short-form samples

  • Organized, proactive communicator with attention to detail

  • Comfortable working async and meeting deadlines without hand-holding

Bonus If You

  • Have edited for expert brands or educational content creators

  • Know how to cut strong hooks and repackage talking-head footage for virality

  • Are familiar with tax, business, or financial content (or willing to learn)

  • Have worked with creators or agencies in high-growth environments

Location

  • Fully Remote

  • US preferred, but open to international applicants with strong communication skills

Compensation

  • $65,000–$70,000/year DOE
