If you are an experienced tax return preparer who can independently prepare high-volume US personal and business tax returns, work efficiently under deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy, this role may be a great fit for you.
We want to be very transparent - we are the place people go to grow, not to relax. We work more, we work on harder returns, and we enjoy it. If you're not ready to work evenings and weekends during tax season, and to also focus on quality/learning throughout the year, you will hate it here.
DiLucci CPA Firm has been serving business owners and real estate investors since 2005. We do tax differently — going beyond compliance to help our clients strategically reduce taxes, protect their wealth, and make better financial decisions. We have some of the hardest returns with first year clients and this is not a box-checking role; you’ll need to think through problems, not just follow a process.
As a Tax Return Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely US tax returns, primarily for business owners and high-income individuals. You should be comfortable working with business-related returns and understanding how business activity flows through to individual returns.
This is a full-time, high-output role for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing a significant volume of returns, communicating clearly with clients and internal team members, and working extended hours during tax season when needed.
Prepare accurate US individual and business tax returns
Primarily prepare 1040, 1120S, and 1120 returns, with additional return types as needed
Review financial statements, tax documents, prior-year returns, and supporting documentation
Accurately enter and reconcile tax information
Prepare required schedules, forms, and supporting documentation
Identify missing, inconsistent, or questionable information before submitting returns for review
Research tax questions and apply current federal and state tax rules
Review completed returns for accuracy and completeness before submission
Meet established production and turnaround deadlines
Prepare returns for business owners, including S-Corporations and C-Corporations
Understand how business income, deductions, distributions, and other activity impact the owner's individual return
Review business financial information and supporting documentation
Identify potential tax issues or inconsistencies that should be escalated to the appropriate team member
Request missing tax documents and information from clients
Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax return preparation
Respond promptly to questions and follow-up requests
Clearly communicate issues or missing information to the tax team
Work collaboratively with reviewers, tax planners, and other team members
Maintain professional and organized communication throughout the preparation process
Maintain organized client files and supporting documentation
Follow firm tax preparation processes and workflows
Accurately track work and update return status
Manage multiple returns simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Take ownership of assigned returns from preparation through completion
Follow all firm deadlines and escalation procedures
We are looking for someone who:
Maintain organized client files and supporting documentation
Follow firm tax preparation processes and workflows
Accurately track work and update return status

5+ years of professional US tax preparation experience
Experience preparing 50+ US tax returns within the last 6 months
Experience preparing business tax returns, particularly 1120S and/or 1120
Strong knowledge of US federal tax preparation
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently

1. Bring Fun Tax Energy
We're genuinely obsessed with tax — the rules, the strategy, the wins for clients — and that obsession is contagious. We show up with real energy, take pride in the work, and make the experience good for each other and for the client. A great attitude isn't soft; it makes the work better and the people around us better.
2. Speed Drives Results
We love to win, and winning means getting it done. Immediately. We learn fast, adapt fast, and move — because knowing the answer isn't the job, acting on it is. Momentum compounds: the faster we turn knowledge into action, the better the outcome for the client and the firm.
3. Own the Outcome
The result is yours, full stop. We don't love excuses, even if they are real — we love getting results. We don't hand off problems, we solve them. We follow through on what we said we'd do, and when something's in the way, we do what it takes to get it done. No "not my job."
