We are a large and rapidly scaling finance brand with over 500,000+ YouTube subscribers, known for strategic, high-value content and strong audience trust. As we continue expanding our reach and influence, we are investing in a strong in-house editing function to ensure our content not only looks polished—but performs at scale.
As our Social Media Editor, you will own the execution of both long-form and short-form video content across YouTube and Instagram. Your work will directly impact audience growth, retention, brand authority, and revenue. Success in this role is measured by output consistency, speed, content performance metrics, workflow efficiency, and the overall strength of our visual brand.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role built for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment and wants true ownership over content production.
Editing & Content Production
Edit 1–2 long-form YouTube videos per week
Edit 14+ short-form videos per week (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels)
Optimize all content for:
- Strong hooks (first 1–3 seconds)
- Retention pacing
- Watch time
- Caption hierarchy and clarity
- Brand consistency
Add dynamic captions, punch-ins, zooms, b-roll, sound design, and pacing that drives engagement
Continuously improve editing style based on performance data
Content Mining & Strategy Support
Mine long-form footage for high-performing short-form clips
Identify emotionally compelling, value-dense, or viral moments
Structure clips natively for each platform (not recycled long-form)
Collaborate with leadership and strategy team on content direction
Workflow & Operational Ownership
Manage editing pipeline and weekly production calendar
Organize footage, assets, and editing files efficiently
Turn feedback quickly and accurately
Maintain clear communication with leadership and admins
Help scale short-form output while maintaining quality
Actively protect leadership time by owning the editing function end-to-end
Independently manage weekly editing output without constant oversight
Hit volume targets consistently (1–2 long forms, 14+ shorts weekly)
Understand performance metrics and edit accordingly
Communicate clearly and proactively
Execute quickly in a fast-paced environment
Continuously refine style, systems, and workflow as the brand grows
3+ years of experience editing short-form social media content
3+ years of experience editing long-form YouTube content
3+ years of social media video marketing experience
3+ years using CapCut, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro
Strong understanding of:
- Hooks & retention psychology
- Performance editing
- YouTube and Instagram analytics
- Brand positioning
Previous full-time dedication to editing (not hobby or occasional freelance)
Portfolio demonstrating strong short-form and long-form work
Ability to commit to this as a full-time role (no outside contract work)
Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
Demonstrated ability to handle consistent weekly volume
Experience editing for a large YouTube or Instagram brand
Experience working within the finance, business, or educational space
Experience working with influencers or authority-based creators
Familiarity with YouTube growth strategy and analytics optimization
Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
$25–$45 per hour (based on experience)
